Curriculum

The Kindergarten-12 Common Core State Standards (CCSS) represent a set of expectations for student knowledge and skills necessary to succeed in college and careers.  Our district adopted curricula is based on these standards as well as our supplemental materials.

Language Arts

Our district adopted Language Arts curriculum is National Geographic Reach for Reading.   This curriculum uses Alphafriends to teach the letters and sounds of the alphabet to students.  We also supplement our curriculum with handwriting packets and sight word booklets.  By the end of Kindergarten, your child should be able to identify and write all uppercase and lowercase letters as well as know their sounds.  Your child should also be able to identify Fry's First 100 Sight Words.

Math

Our district adopted Math curriculum is GoMath.  Go Math! is a comprehensive Grade K-6 mathematics program developed to support the Common Core State Standards for Mathematics and the NCTM Curriculum Focal Points. The program emphasizes Essential Questions and Big Ideas with depth of understanding as the goal.  We also supplement with number 1-20 packets, color and shape booklets.
